Concentrations #11 & #12

The central idea of my concentration was showing some of the parts of a car that people don't usually see, the pieces that are the less glamorous parts of the car that work together to make the car function and I was trying to expose the interesting parts of the inside of the car.  I think that at the beginning of my works I think that I didn't explore very much and used straight on pictures of the car like in works 1 and 2 they were very simple pictures that had simple compositions and didn't really use the elements very well.  And though I ran into a few problems I think that I figured out how to make some decently interesting pictures toward the end, I liked number 7(the one of all the pipes) I think I controlled the amount of color used in the picture and that I was also physically exploring by going deeper into the engine and then under the car later.

Concentrations #9 & #10

I think that I was very successful with these pictures on using the elements to create the most interesting pictures possible, I limited the color scheme though I think I need to do some editing and I'll need some help figuring out photo shop and what I need to edit.  I think I'll need a little help deciding what to make my final picture, I was thinking I should continue with the under side of the car to finish my concentration, but I'm not sure.  I think these pictures are pretty good with what I could do with just taking pictures of the car and are showing growth.

Concentrations #7 & #8

I have returned to taking more pictures of the parts of the car that the normal person doesn't see regularly, I think that these are decent photos though Id like to possibly make them better with the help of photo shop.  I think that I have kept my idea of my concentration going.  I think ive begun to run into a problem, I have kind of run out of stuff to take pictures of and Im trying to find a way to be able to get pictures from the bottom of the car or anything else that I can think of.  I will have to find more parts of the car for the concentrations that I am re-doing and the last three concentrations.  I also plan on learing how to use the basic functions of photo shop to make my photos more interesting to the viewer.

Resources

http://artmachines.org/page/2/

Some of the pictures on the lower part of the links page are something like I am trying to achieve with my concentrations pictures.  I looked up a lot of different searches and I had trouble finding other resources of people that do something similar to this.  I also found this picture that I think is similar to my concentration http://techyum.com/2008/07/sharp-shiny-gorgeous-brilliant-the-robotic-art-of-choe-u-ram/.  Also this site that's first picture shows all of the intricacies of a machine that work together to make it work that we dont really pay attention to.

Concentrations 5 And 6

I think that I'm going to re-take my concentrations that are parts of the car that designers focus on for them to have style, like the inside of the car and maybe not paying as much detail to the most important parts, the parts that make the car run.  And pay more attention to the basic elements to make my pictures more interesting.  My concentration has grown in the direction that I didnt really want it to, because I hadnt put as much thought into it as I should have, so I am going to go back and change the pictures to make them fit my concentration more.

Concentration #4

I don't think that this is the best picture so i would want to make it one of my first pieces, but I've been having trouble thinking about how to develop the idea.  The picture i added goes with one of the first ones that i added as pieces of the same machine.  I thought of photo shopping the pictures to compare them to body parts, but I'm not sure if I want to do that to develop my concentration.  I'm not really sure what I'm going to do for my next piece.  I think that I am going to go back to where I began with taking pictures of the parts of the car that we usually don't see and don't really appreciate until something goes wrong with them and then the car doesn't work, like many other things in life.  so i may or may not end up actually using this picture, i may have to go redo some others before I finish.  I think that the pictures I re-take will further explore the idea that I just mentioned with finding more parts of the car that we don't see from the outside.  I think i should try to do some more pictures like the first two pictures that I had taken, but I need to find more places on the car to take them.  I think for future concentrations I need to use more elements of design in my pirtues and just stick to the basic elements.

Change In Concentration

I decided that my first idea caused trouble since I figured out that creating the pieces to go with the idea would be beyond what I think I could produce since im not very well educated on photoshop.  I decided to change my concentration to having close up pictures of pieces that work together to allow a complex machine to work and I felt that this would help create a more obvious connection and would also allow for a more limited color scheme.  I'm not as happy with my final product yet as i hoped so I'm going to take better photos or edit them to make them better.  I've found some pictures that i want to model my concentration after.

The central idea of my concentration is that everything is made of smaller parts that allow it to function and that attention to detail is important in everything.  This picture shows how the strength of the materials ultimately make the product better, and i just feel that this picture shows that this part is important to the function of the car as a very complex machine.  I feel that i have shown how intricate the make up of a car is and that every part is important. I think that i should use more elements in my photos in my future concentrations.
